What's Up Wednesday- Birds, Feathers and Mixed Media

Hey guys, Katie here! I whipped up these fun mixed media cards for today's What's Up Wednesday post using the adorable little birdies from the Carved Love stamp set. Did you know that the "Flying by to say hi" stamp is actually from the Fall Add Ons stamp? While it was meant to go with Halloween ghosts and witches, it works so perfectly with the little birds, Don't you think?

To get the fun textured feathers, I applied a crackle paste by Golden through a Feather Stencil by Ronda Palazzari. I thought the feathers also went really well with the bird stamps.
I also used the Flowers of Life stamp to add a fun pattern to a plain pink paper.

After the feathers were dry, I stamped on my sentiment and then stamped on the birds randomly,
almost as if they are flying.
I wanted to add even more mixed media goodness, so I rubbed pink and purple gelatos on the top and bottom of the card, sprayed them with water and let them run down the card.

After making that first card, I loved it so much I really wanted to make a second card. I changed up the colors a bit, but I used all of the same techniques and stamps.
