What's Up Wednesday: Dominos!!

Paper Wings Productions released some awesome new Vintage Domino Unmounted Stamp Sheets and Clip Art Sheets and I just NEEDED to play with them, so put in an order early this month!!  I got to work on them last night and made three necklaces, a magnet and a pin!  The process to create these isn't too complicated at all, and they really look great when you are done!

The centre domino necklace in the photo above is from the Domino Nature Clip Art Sheet , and custom made for a friend who loves crows :) I adhered the image and words with heavy gloss gel and covered with glossy accents to seal it. The gear and key as well as the bail have been adhered with E6000 glue.

To make the stamped necklaces there are a few more steps, but still quite an easy process. I colored some gorgeous backgrounds using Ranger Alcohol Inks and a felt applicator.

Using the applicator, just stamp and swirl around the colors on the domino till you are happy with the result.

Take your images from the Vintage Domino Unmounted Stamp Sheet and using Stazon Ink stamp the images onto the dominos. Glue on your embellishments and bail with E6000.

I also decided to try out making some dominos into magnets and pins. I chose to use some images from the Domino Vintage Cuties Clip Art Sheet. Again, I adhered the paper to the domino using Gloss Gel Medium and finished the sides of the dominos with some alcohol inks.

I am sorry to say that my term on the Paper Wings Production Design Team finishes with this post and I will be moving on. I have really enjoyed being on this team, working with the great stamps and mixed media kits!! Thank you so much Carrie for giving me the opportunity to work with you and the team!

Mixed Media monday: Easy to make gift card holder

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here with  my very easy to make " light" Mixed Media project.

This is my last for this term project made for PWP blog. This time I made a gift card holder/bag with Tim Holtz glassine bag that was dry embossed with his folder and then heat embossed over with pink powders.
I used PWP clip art sheet  images- the fairy girl, the bird and the flowers were just cut out the clip art  sheets.
The wing was covered with pink fine glitter. I stamped this some hanging flowers on the bag bottom, but it's hard to see after all. The O, Happy day sentiment is stamped on the bottom.

Hope you like this easy to make project !

Scrapbook Saturday

Hello!  I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.  Erica here today from the Midwest and we are freezing!  I can not wait until winter is over!  Today I want to share with you a layout I created using the January Nesting Components Kit and a great way to use up the small strips of pattern paper that we all have laying around!  I know I always have a ton of them and I hate to toss them out!  I found a layout on Pinterest that inspired me to put these strips to good use!  I am starting with a black 12x12 piece of cardstock for my background, a white strip of cardstock measuring 4x12 and different scraps of the 8x8 paper pad that comes in the kit that I have cut down to 4 inches wide and various heights.  The paper pad is from October Afternoon and it is from the Creative Girl collection.
I am using a photo that was taken a couple weeks ago of myself and one of my best friends!  I placed my strips of paper in the order that I wanted them to be in and then applied adhesive all over the white strip of cardstock and adhered the strips to the white cardstock.

Next I inked up some of the images from the Art Textures Cling Stamp in white pigment ink in different areas on my layout and then adhered the strip to my black base.

Once the ink was dry I was ready to add some layers, stamping and embellishments and my layout was complete!  I used a couple different stamp sets of  to stamp out the sentiments on the strip of patterned paper including Detail Framer and Vintage Technology and even created a small flair badge with the word hello stamped onto some pattern paper.

The Flight Attendants here at The Aviary have been busy creating amazing projects and here are a few you do not want to miss

We still have a couple January Nesting Components Kits available in the Paper Wings Productions Shop so if you wanted to get your hands on one of them now is the time!!  Also our January Stamp of the Month is still available for 40% off this month and comes with a full color print out of sample ideas.  Thank you so much for stopping today!  I hope you all have a great rest of your weekend and remember to let your creativity take flight!

Themed Thursday: Coffee and Tea Cards

Hey, it's Katie from Punk Projects! I just got the awesome Play with your Coffee stamp set and the Frothy Concoctions stamp set so for today's Themed Thursday I am featuring Coffee and Tea themed cards.

For my cards I used the coffee stamps, but I also used supplies from the January Nesting Components Kit. I loved the Cosmo Cricket paper pad included in the kit, it worked perfectly for making the card bases. I also used the pretty Lace stamp in from the kit on a couple of these cards. I love how it looks like vintage lace.

First up are my Tea themed cards. To turn the coffee cups into tea cups all you have to do is add a tea bag tag. On one of the cards I just doodled a little tag, but on the other I made a paper tag and attached it with twine so it's 3D.

Here are my 2 Coffee themed cards: I used a coffee cup on one, but for the other I chose to have fun with the frappuccino cup. I stamped the cozy and the straw on patterned paper and added them on for fun texture. I love the different add-ons for that stamp.

Are you more of a coffee lover or tea lover? I, personally, am all about the Tea!
While you're here, be sure to check out some of the other creative projects on the blog like Norma's beautiful Wooden Plaque, Dana's Creative Girl Card, Cathi's Vintage Clip Art Cards, and Erica's Lovely Layout.
