Mixed Media Monday

Happy Monday Paper Wings fans!  Erica here with you today to bring you Mixed Media Monday!  Today I want to share with you my completed Easter Mixed Media album.  But first I want to announce the winner of our April "Get Inky" challenge!  Congrats to Val by Design.  Please email Carrie at paperwingsproductions@hotmail.com to claim your prize!  Thanks so much to everyone who linked up this month!  We hope you will join us again next month!

I shared my album cover with you in my post earlier this month and if you missed it you can check it out HERE.  Now that Easter has passed and my photos have been printed, I was able to complete my journal and fill it will photos and details of our Easter 2014.  I used a variety of products from the Paper Wings Productions online store including the April 2014 Nesting Components Kit.   Here is a look at my completed pages and also a video showing some of my process completing my pages!  I used a ton of stamps from the Paper Wings Productions store including all the Framer Stamp sets that you can find HERE.  These stamp sets are perfect for mini albums, project life and I find myself grabbing these to add to my scrapbook layouts over and over again!  I applied acrylic paint to the edges of my pages, and tons of Hibiscus Rose from Lindy's Stamp Gang.

For the page above I used some of the Golden Regular Gel that comes in the April Nesting Components Kit with a stencil and then sprinkled some Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powder to add a fun texture to the pattern paper.

The different papers I used in my album came from two different Paper Wings Productions Nesting Components Kits. The Creative Girl Kit (January 2014) and the December 2013 Kit, these two kits are still
available in the Paper Wings Productions shop and are jam packed with product!

I hope you enjoyed my completed Easter journal.  These journals are great ways to document special moments and memories and they are so fun to create!  Here is a look at my process when I create my mini albums.

Feature Friday

*****Join our April Challenge: GET INKY, HERE*****

Happy Friday Paper Wings Productions fans!!  Erica here with you today for Feature Friday and I am excited to bring you a project I am currently working on using the April Nesting Components Kit!
I decided to create a mini album to hold my 2014 Easter memories!  Today I am sharing the cover of my album since Easter is on Sunday!  I will share the inside pages on my next post!  Now to be totally honest when I opened up myApril Kit I had no idea what I was going to create so I pushed it aside for a couple days.  A few days later I pulled it out again and starting laying everything out and then the wheels in my head started turning and I began cutting, gluing and creating this album!  I think I need to start setting up my camera when I create to show you all my process!  I started with the chipboard pieces that are actually pieces of the packaging in the kit. I cut it down as the base of my album and adhered the muslin fabric included in the kit to the chipboard.  I then took a variety of Lindy's Stamp Gang mists and splattered around my cover and also added some stamping(which ends up getting covered up).  Next I took a few strips of the music note paper and adhered to the cover with mod podge and then added one of the vintage clip art images also included in this kit and tucked one of the Ranger tags that came in the March Nesting Components Kit behind the clip art.  Once it was dry I added the gold trim and the wired bow trim to the side and added a cluster of flowers from the kit.  The tiny gold eggs were created using the stamp set Single Dot Border that comes in the kit.  The circle outline reminded me of Easter eggs so that is what I created using a glassine bag and some glitter.
I inked up the stamp with VersaMark and then stamped onto the glassine bag and used some simple stick which is a very sticky embossing powder when heated.
After I heat the simple stick I added this beautiful glass glitter that is also included in this months kit and then hit it with my heat tool once more to help the glitter set.
All that is left to do is cut them out and you have glittered Easter eggs ready for any project!  Here is a look at my completed mini album cover and a peek at the inside.

Thank you so much for joining me today and I hope I have inspired you to get a little creative today!  Mini albums are so fun to create and I just love to have fun and get a little messy with them!  They are perfect for holding memories and to document special events!  This month our April Challenge is Get Inky  and I hope you will join us in for your chance to win a $20.00 gift certificate to the Paper Wings Productions shop!  We are also holding a Guest Designer Call till May 9 you can check out the details HERE!  For more inky inspiration head on over to Katie's Whats Up Wednesday post HERE!  Enjoy your day and remember to let your creativity take flight!

Mixed Media Monday - Stuffed Easter Bunny

*****Join our April Challenge: GET INKY, HERE*****

Hi Paper Wings fans! Dana here with you starting out the week with some mixed media fun. If you missed the debut of the April Nesting Components Mixed Media Kit, you can find it HERE. I decided to go off-the-page and have created this bunny with the April kit. I also used the fantastic Easter Cling Stamp Set. You can pick up this stamp set 25% off this month!

I used a Martha Stewart Bunny Pattern for this project. I did need more muslin than what was provided in the April Kit. I used the muslin from the kit for the patterned ears and the bow, which leaves me enough muslin for more projects!

I used the Single Dot Border Clear Stamp Set from the April Kit to add a fun pattern to the inside of the bunny ears.

The April Kit contains Golden Regular Gel. I used the gel and an image from the Vintage Easter Clip Art Sheet to add a colorful egg to the center of  my bunny. This type of image transfer is easy and fun and only takes a couple of steps.

Step 1: Cut the pink egg from the Vintage Easter Clip Art Sheet. Gather the bunny body, Golden Regular Gel and a paintbrush.

Step 2: Brush a thin layer of Regular Gel onto the center of the bunny body. Place the clip art image color side down into the gel. Rub a bone folder over the back of the image and set aside to dry.

Step 3: Spritz the clip art image with water and gently run the paper from the muslin. Continue the apply water and rub until all the paper has been removed and the transferred image is revealed.

Step 4: Apply a thin layer of Regular Gel over the image to seal it to the fabric. Let dry.

I used stamps from the Easter Set to add an Easter greeting and small heart to the arms of my bunny.

I also stamped some small roses onto the feet!

Thanks for stopping by today! The April Nesting Components Mixed Media Kit is available from the Paper Wings Productions Store while supplies last. We have a NEW Paper Wings Productions facebook Share Group. We'd love for you to come join our group and share the projects you create with Paper Wings Productions stamps and kits!

Scrapbook Saturday - Mon Cheri with Dana

*****Join our April Challenge: GET INKY, HERE*****

Hi Paper Wings Productions fans! Dana Tatar here today sharing a layout for Scrapbook Saturday. I created this page primarily using items from the March and April Nesting Components Mixed Media Kits. I also used bits and pieces leftover from past kits. I'm thrilled to be able to incorporate both older and new kits together to create fun projects.

The cute boy from the Vintage Hodge Podge Clip Art Sheet (March Kit) was just begging to be used on a layout! I cut him out of the image for use on this page. If you're wanting to create a similar layout, you could personalize it with a photo of your own cutie!

I used a Blue Fern Studios Village Sign Post as the focal point of this layout. I finished the chipboard with embossing powder. I filled the sign post with a Prima ATC (March Kit) that I then filled in with glaze. I embellished the sign post with Prima flowers (March Kit) and a piece of Leaf Ribbon (April Kit). The Gold Foil Border and Gold Foil Wings are NEW to the Paper Wings Productions Store and are both included in the April Kit!

The Postcard Cling Stamp was the perfect was to embellish the front of this envelope that was part of a previous kit. I embellished the envelope with a gold rub-on (previous kit) and a stenciled molding paste design. (Look for this Golden Molding Paste in a future kit!)

The Single Dot Border Clear Stamp Set is included in the April Kit. I used the dot borders separately on this page. The line of Border Stamps contain both an outline stamp and a solid stamp that complement each other and are designed to be used together. Follow THIS LINK for a quick tutorial.

I created a small embellishment cluster with flowers, a mini burlap tag, and an enameled tag, all from the March Kit. The resist canvas leaf, rub-on and seam binding are from previous kits.

Thanks for stopping by today! The March and April Nesting Components Mixed Media Kits are available from the Paper Wings Productions Store while supplies last. We have a NEW Paper Wings Productions facebook Share Group. We'd love for you to come join our group and share the projects you create with Paper Wings Productions stamps and kits!
