DT post: Bluebonnets and Butterflies Canvas

Hi Scrappers,

This is Veronica from www.vickyscrappingpassion.blogspot.com  sharing with you a Canvas I modified with wings-cling-stamp-setflowers-cling-stamp-set, and  the wildflowers-cling-stamp-set:

I used:

Moments like this, Canvas Kit, Quick Quote

In short, I distressed the die cuts using the powder puffs mocha mama. I added some pearl watercoloring in shades of blue. Then, I added some stamped sentiments to the flourish die cuts and to the heart cut outs using powder puffs or distress oxide inks. For the butterfly die cuts, I stamped the wings using distress oxide. I also inked the edges of the canvas. The rest, I just followed the instructions of the kit.  For more details, here is the SnapGuide with more instructions.

Here some closeups:

I love the details the butterfly wings stamps add to these die cuts.

I also added some blue watercoloring to the big butterfly overlay. It blends everything together with bluebonnets in the pictures.

I hope you enjoyed my canvas and visit my blog:  www.vickyscrappingpassion.blogspot.com.

Stamped Canvas Heart Valentines

Stamped Canvas Heart Valentines by Dana Tatar for Paper Wings Productions

Hi friends! Dana Tatar here today sharing a quick Valentine tutorial. I used two craft materials that I love, canvas and mist, with Paper Wings Productions stamps to create this set of Valentines. I started this project with store-bought stitched canvas hearts, so all I needed to do to personalize these shapes was add color, stamp, and embellish.

Step 1: Prime the canvas hearts with a light spritzing of water. Wet canvas will readily absorb color. Next, spray the hearts with mist. I used several shades of red, orange, pink, and purple Tattered Angels mist. While the hearts were still wet, I stacked them and applied pressure to transfer colors from one heart to another. The results are similar to a tie dye effect with interesting spots of color.

Step 2: Stamp sentiments onto the canvas hearts with a permanent, waterproof ink. I used stamps from the Valentine Wishes Cling Stamp Set.

Step 3: Embellish! I finished my Valentines with some simple stitched buttons.

You can find the full selection of Valentine's Day stamp sets in the Holiday Section of the Paper Wings Productions Store. If you're looking to jumpstart your Valentines Day crafting, pick up the Valentine Mini Mixed Media Kit.

Mixed Media Canvas

I hope Christmas has passed with a lot of joy and as much ease and free time as possible. Today I´m showing you a Mixed Media Canvas that was a Christmas Gift for my best friend Annica.

I used different Paper Wings stamps on top of my background that I buildt up with gesso & spray inks. The Vintage Cuties fits so well on this project.

Hope you enjoyed my little creation - Marie

Tutorial Tuesday - Packaging Tape Image Transfers

Hi Paper Wings Productions fans! Dana Tatar here today sharing a canvas album I created using some of my favorite techniques. I think that working with wet mediums and canvas is especially fun!

I drew inspiration from several of my favorite James Bond films when deciding on images and text for my pages. I used a fun image transfer technique to create transparent embellishments from the Paper Wings Productions Clip Art Sheets for my album pages that I'm excited to share with you!

To prepare the album pages, mist the canvas ATCs with water to moisten the surface of the canvas for maximum color absorption. Next, lightly mist the wet canvas ATCs with several colors of mist. Add colorful patterns to each ATC using stencils and paint. Embellish each stenciled design with dimensional paint and set aside to dry.

Cut images from the Clip Art Sheets. Place clip art images face down onto the sticky side of clear packaging tape. Press down firmly to seal.

Gently score the back of the clip art images with scissors and spray liberally with water. Let soak.

Gently rub the paper from the masking tape resulting in transparent images. Cut the images from the tape and stitch onto the canvas ATCs.

The transparent images allow the mist and paint on the background of the pages to shine through!

Use a label maker to print text for each ATC.

Tie the canvas ATCs together with a piece of Gypsy Hand Dyed Ribbon.

To cover the stitching I used to attach the clip art image transfers to the album, I stamped onto pieces of muslin with some of my favorite Background Stamps and glued them to the back of each canvas page with Liquid Stitch.

Thanks for stopping by today! We would love to see what you make with our Clip Art Sheets so add your projects to our Flickr Group or our Facebook page.

Feature Friday - March Mixed Media Kit

Happy Friday Everyone!  Today I'd like to feature the new March Mixed Media kit.  Have you seen this kit yet?!  It's really beautiful, take a look:

Isn't that a great kit?! Okay now let me show you what I made with it:

This is a 10x10 canvas and that cute little girl is my big sister, isn't she cute.  I started out by cutting out the center of the book cover to use as a frame for my photo.  Next I applyed some cream paint to the canvas and transferred the book text.

I layered the pages of book text with the library cards and fussy cut the birds from the sheet of digital images.

Next I bent the Blue Fern chippie, white washed with the Tim Holtz Distress Stain and embossed.  I also slit the twill ribbon in half to create the banner.

Then I added some buttons from my stash here and there.

Finally I applied raw umber and purple paint to the edges and the Prima flower.  I love the way this turned out and I still have so much stuff left in my kit to create other beautiful projects.  So stay tuned for more Mixed Media kit inspiration!!

For all the details on this kit or to purchase, please visit the Paper Wings Productions Online Store. Thank you so much for joining me today and have a wonderful day!!
