Here's a project done by guest designer Amanda.  She says-
"This kit is just Awesome with a capital 'A'! Love all the elements! The kit has a classy but fun feel to it & a lil bit of sassy attitude too! Strong, bold colours, and stylish clip art!  Despite all the incredible creating possibilities with this kit - I just couldn't go past the Tim Holtz Collections Folio.  This folio is perfect for collecting mementos, souvenirs, & meaningful odds & ends. I am planning on using mine as a storage file for all my loose art journal pages - you know, the ones that you create whilst on the go! :)"
I started by covering the panels with the fabulous MME Market Street paper & die cuts, using the Nob Hill Clip art as the focal points on the front and inner covers.  The Tim Holtz negative strip, Um Wow chipboard and that gorgeous ribbon trim complete my front cover - giving it a real wow factor!

Themed Thursday - Card Set

Hi there sweet friends. Marie Johansson here today showing you a card set made with the Tea Time July Nesting Components Mixed Media kit. Let me first tell you a bit about myself. I live in the north of Sweden with my partner and our two kids (10 & 6 years old). I have been scrapbooking since 2004 and my style has developed over the years to now days more fit under Mixed Media Scrapbooking. I love to use different mediums on my projects mixed up with various sorts of embellishments. You are very welcome to visit my blog to see more of my creations.

Both card has a brown cardstock as it´s base. I choose to use different patterned papers from the paper pad that comes with the kit. To match the cards I choose to use leftovers from one card on the other card. I also used the same ribbons, paints and gesso.

For this card I used one of the pictures from the clip art sheet. I have distressed it a bit on the edges to create texture. I don´t like my cards to flat. The ATC chipboard frame from Um Wow Studios made it´s way up on the top of the card. It´s partly covered with gesso. The Swirl stamps turned out nice stamped and embossed with white embossing powder. I have used the same techniques on the card below, gesso on the chipbard, embossing and splatters of mist and paint. It looks totally different though even though the material is the same.

After finishing my card I had some paper strips left. Instead of throwing them away, used them for a set of tags. I used the same materials on these as on the cards.

We have Marie joining us this month as our Guest Designer.  Here's what she said about the kit-
"I love this kit and had a great time creating with it. You can say I have used  most parts of it since the base for this canvas actually are the stiff cardboard that comes with the kit bag. First I prepped the cardboard with thin white gesso. When dry, I glued on strips of patterned paper from the kit. After some more drying I added a bit more gesso, paints (spray mist, acrylic paint) and the decorations. To finish it all of I added a quote by C.S Lewis that I really love."

Here's Marie's project-

You will see more of Marie later this month.  Remember that our kits are limited edition, get yours before they are gone!  Also, we still have our Sizzling Summer Sale happening right now for a limited time.  Some things have already sold out, shop now for the best selection.

Our Featured Stamp of the Month for July is Sayings and Sentiments.  During the month of July this set is 40% off!

Themed Thursday - Birds

*****To join our June Challenge: Chipboard and/or Wood Veneers, CLICK HERE*****

Hi there peeps!

Carrie here with you today to show you a bird themed project that I made with our For the Birds Mixed Media kit.  I used the kit to embellish an Ideaology Mini Configurations Book.  The best part of the Configurations products is that you can move the little boxes around in any you want to.  I played with the layout for a while before deciding on this one.

For the flat side of the Configurations Book, I used the bird stencil and molding paste from the kit.  Here's a brief tutorial on how I did it.

I scribbled some Gelatos directly on the surface of the book box.

Then I blended them out using my fingers.

Next I mixed up a custom color of Light Molding Paste using my Gelato.

I scrapped off some of the Gelato and mixed it in the paste.

The paste had some chunks of Gelato in it, but I decided I liked it and left it chunky.  I then spread the paste over the stencil carefully filling in the spaces without squishing excess under the stencil.

Carefully remove the stencil and wash off the stencil and palette knife immediately.  Let it dry for about 30 minutes.  While I was waiting on it to dry, I worked on the boxes.

I had fun combining the clip art, rub-ons and trinkets from the kit in all of the little boxes. I also used the new Bird Beauty stamp set.

I stamped the bird using the same technique I did for the blog hop last week.  You can find the tutorial for it here on my blog.

I like to finish off the Configurations pieces with tissue or washi tape.  I think it gives it a finished look and hides all of the seams.  I use extra glue with those tapes because I don't think they stick very well.  Well that's it folks, thanks for staying with me until the end, I know this was a long post!  Hope you enjoyed!  You can find links to all of the products I used below.  The kits are selling fast, get yours before they are gone!

Enjoy the flight!
Carrie
