I really like how this little tag is transformed with sentiment, the StazOn stamped map and the stamped gross grain ribbon.

I took a picture of this quote at the Lady Bird Botanical Garden in Austin, and I loved so much how well it goes with this stamps line.

Mini Album with Ruler Binding

Hi friends! Dana Tatar here today sharing a mixed media mini album that I put together. I usually struggle with album binding, so this Tim Holtz Ruler Binding set was a quick and easy way for me to hold my album together. The only tool necessary was a standard hole punch. (The metal screws, washers, and wing nuts are included with the rulers.)

I started this album by cutting up pieces of scrap patterned papers, clip art sheets, acetate, and fabric, to measure 3.25 x 5 inches. To add strength to the album, and to help keep the paper pages from tearing, I used acetate for the front and back covers.

I'm still working on embellishing all the pages in this album. I added handwritten song lyrics, stamping, chipboard stickers, and words cut from patterned papers, to the pages shown above. The fabric pages add fun texture to this album. I used a safety pin to attach a silver foil bird to a fabric page. Stitched beads or charms, or iron-on patches, would also make great embellishments for the fabric pages.

I gathered the punched pages together and placed them onto the screws to bind them together. The album is held together by wing nuts that twist onto the screws. I have 40 pages in this album and still have about 1/4 inch of space on the screws if I decide to add more pages at a later date.

DT Post: Day of the Dead Altar/ House

This is Veronica from www.vickyscrappingpassion,blogspot.com  sharing with you today a Day of Dead altar/ house I made to teach my crafty friends.

For this project, I tinted the gesso with the liquid teal ink and roughly painted the walls and outside of the house. Then, I modpodge some tissue papers on the outside walls of the house to resemble stucco. I cut several pieces of glitter paper and neon papers with the metal dies. Choose the pieces of printed cardstock for the walls. Finally after many other steps detailed in my blog tomorrow, I decorated the house with the many findings to resemble a Mexican Day of the Dead altar telling a forever love story.

Wearable Art: Stamped Tchotchke Pin

Hi! Dana Tatar here today sharing a fun piece of wearable art. I've been working on adding patches and studs to my battle jacket. I'm really loving this form of expression with colorful patches and pins from my favorite bands and artists. I wanted to add some handmade flair to the jacket, for a bit more originality, so I created this one-of-a-kind tchotchke pin.

I pulled the Meurtos Clear Stamp Set from my Paper Wings stash. I think rock-and-roll and skulls go pretty well together! I stamped one of the skeletons and the words 'artsy to the bone' onto a piece of white cardstock using black archival ink.

Next, I cut the stamped images from the paper to fit into round pendant trays. I used a piece of floral print patterned paper as the base for the stamped text.

I attached the stamped papers to the pendant trays with Diamond Glaze. (Any liquid glaze will work for this step!) Once dry, I applied a small amount of glaze over the image in each pendant and pressed a glass cabochon over the top to seal and magnify the designs.

I added both pendants and some more charms to a 5-loop pin. I'm seriously ready to rock!

This pin is great for wearing and also giving! There is an amazing selection of stamps in the Paper Wings Productions Store that are small enough to fit onto jewelry bases and pins. DT: Lady of Guadalupe Shrine

Hi everyone! 

Veronica (A.K.A. Vicky) here sharing with you a DT inspiration project today:

A Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, made using Virgen de Guadalupe stamp set and build-a-shrine-cling-stamp-set, some wooden die cut pieces, some lace ribbon (last three included in the natural-mixed-media-kit), and some other goodies from my stash:

Letter Journal "Art" Cover

Hi all Erin here.  Here is my complete letter journal for the swap.  Here I created the front and back covers with lots of stamps, mists, paints, and texture!!

I had fun with this cover and played with the color yellow and a splatter and paint drip technique with straws.  It is fun to get messy with paints!!  Here is my video on how I created the front cover and back covers, plus how I finished off the binding.

Here are some up close pictures of the book.  For all that background texture I used the Writing Backgrounds stamps.  Love those!!!

I just love how the paints drip down from the word "ART".

Now I just need to wait for my book to make the rounds to the other 4 ladies before coming back to me!!  Stay tuned for more!!

Blue Bliss Letter Journal Page

Bee Beautiful Mini Book W/ Video Tutorials

I am in a mini book phase, they are so fun to make and just a chance to try fun techniques and get my hands all paint covered!!!

My inspiration for this mini book was bees, I kept seeing a bee/bug and I thought Bee Beautiful, would be wonderful for a title and then I went with the theme of yellow and black.  From there it just took on a life of its own.  I used a ton of Tattered Angels paints and mists along with some various mediums with stencils from The Crafter's Workshop.  I then added in some fun background stamps from Paper Wings Productions to help enhance the feel of the book.  

 

Here is the first video which is filled with the cutting of the pages, mists, painting, stenciling, stamping, and a fun technique with the EZ Steam II material and glitter, embossing powder, and flower soft to add a great dimension and texture to the page.

From here I added in a few pictures of my little girl form this year, not many just there is room for more as the year goes along.  I also added in some fun bling, brads, and other little gems from Eyelet Outlet to enhance the entire effect.  I did not want to cover the pages up too much, I love the effect I got from all the mists, stamps, and stencils.
