Los Animales Stamped Clay Trinket Dishes

Los Animales Cat Stamped and Painted Clay Trinket Dish by Dana Tatar for Paper Wings Productions

Hello! Dana Tatar here today sharing a fun tutorial that features the fantastic Los Animales Cling Stamp Set and ACTÍVA Hearty Air Dry Clay. I love crafting during the month of October. I already assembled a Halloween Mini Album, so I thought it would be enjoyable to create some trinket dishes for the Day of the Dead.

How to Stamp Air Dry Clay by Dana Tatar for Paper Wings Productions

Step 1: Roll out the clay into a flat disc. Firmly press a Los Animales cling stamp into the center of the clay. Press the stamped clay into a small dish and remove the excess clay. Carefully remove the wet clay from the dish and let dry overnight. Note: I used a glass dish as a mold for my clay. A free-form dish would also look amazing!

Step 2: Paint the dishes and let dry. Note: I used ColorBox ColoriQue by Lisa Marie Jimenez to paint the inside of the dishes. I highlighted the edge of my dishes with Gold Lamé Smooch Accent Ink. Any ink or paint will work for this step.

Step 3: Seal the dishes. Note: I like a spray sealant for a smooth finish. Find Rust-Oleum Triple Thick Glaze in the hardware store.

I really love these stamped animals! I hope I have inspired you to try working with a new medium. Air dry clay is easy to work with and is also great for beginners (like me!). Stop by the Paper Wings Productions Store to view the full selection of Day of the Dead Stamps.

If you used PWP products to create art, we'd love to see it! Share your creations with us on the Paper Wings Productions Facebook Page, in the Paper Wings Productions Facebook Share Group, or leave a link to your work here in the comments section.

Halloween is coming

Congratulations to our Blog Hop winner is Salla Porra.
Please contact us at paperwingsproductions@hotmail.com to claim your prize!  Thank you to everyone who participated!

Hello friends. Larissa here today with two Halloween cards for you. I am using three stamps sets
today.

I used Paper Wings Productions:
Mujer Skelton Cling Stamp
Calaveras & Corazons
Little Halloween Stamp Set

I also used:
White cardstock
Only Orange Cardstock
ATG
Distress Inks: Black Soot, Carved Pumpkin, Twisted Citron, Wilted Violet
Mini Mister
Nuvo Drops: Violet Galaxy, Apple Green and Ripened Pumpkin

I smushed the inks on a piece of plastic and misted them with water. I then put the cardstock on top to pick up the inks. I dried them with my heat tool.
I then stamped the images around the card on top of the ink.
To finish off each card I matted it on a piece of Only Orange cardstock and adhered it to a white card base. I also added a few Nuvo drops on the card. I kept it simple and didn't want a lot of bling to take away from the images.

This card used the Mujer Skelton Stamp and sentiment from Calaveras & Corazon.

This card I used Calaveras &Corazons image and sentiment from Little Halloween Set.

I hope you enjoyed my post today. Have a wonderful day friends.

Dia De Los Muertos

Hello friends. Larissa here today with a fun card I created. I used the Dia De Los Muertos Hombre
I used my Misti tool and stamped the image 3 times on the card front. I then colored each using  Copic markers. I used C7-C5-C3-W00-W3-E42- E44-R35 and G09.
I stamped the sentiment from the set on the card front.  I matted the card front on a piece of Riding Hood Red cardstock and then adhered it to a white card base.

This set will be awesome for Halloween and the Day of the Dead. But until then I will have fun using it to make other cards.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Tutorial Tuesday: Mixed Media Assemblage

*****To join our June Challenge: Chipboard and/or Wood Veneers, CLICK HERE*****

Hello PWP fans, Norma here with you today!  Big thanks to everyone who joined us over the weekend for our June Blog Hop and Giveaway.  So before I get started, I know you all are anxiously awaiting the winner announcement for that wonderful Faber-Castell prize pack so without further ado:

I loved all of the beautiful projects that your design team has created and shared. Awesome inspiration!!

Karen, please contact us at paperwingsproductions@hotmail.com

Today I have mixed media assemblage project to share with you.  These types of projects are some of my very favorite to create so I wanna show you how easy it is to create.

I'm working on matte board to give my project strength but you could use chipboard or heavy weight paper.  I stamped the Muertos Mujer first then placed a mask over her before stamping the Muertos Hombre.  I wanted it to look like they were very close.

I colored them in with Stickles and color pencils.

I added a wash of color to the background with gelatos and a water brush.

Then I just glued the matte board to a small flea market frame.

I chose to use Diana, she's one of my favorite PWP stamps.  I used Prismacolor pencils to color her.  She's also stamped onto matte board.

I wanted to give her beautiful shimmery wings.  These butterfly wings are from the Wings stamp set.  I stamped them with blue ink and then embossed them with Antique Gold embossing powder.

I'm using a canvas covered chipboard heart for my backdrop.  I sprayed it with red Dylusions inks then stamped the large flourish from the Vintage Domino stamp set.  I punched wholes on each side and added eyelets.

Assemblage time!!  I added her wings, an embossed crown from the Crowns clear stamp set, roses from my jewelry stash and then attached Diana to the frame.

I also added a little bling to Diana's crown.

The banner and sentiment are both from A Banner Day.  Using hot glue, I framed the edges with bling trim.  It's those kind of finishing touches that make all the difference.

I added sheer black ribbon and flowers from my stash.

The bottom was looking a little bare so I added a piece of a bracelet.  The bracelet was a failed resin attempt but nothing goes to waste around here. lol.  For this piece it really doesn't matter that the bezels are full of little bubbles.

I'm so pleased with the way this project turned out!!  It was pretty easy right?!  I hoped I inspired you to give mixed media assemblage a try and if you mix in some chipboard or wood veneers, you can enter it in this month's challenge.

Thank you for joining me today, have a beautiful day!!!

Frida Shrine

Hello PWP Fans, Norma here with you today!!  Did you get a chance to hop with us over the weekend?  If not, you still have time to join us and enter the drawing for the $25.00 gift certificate.  Here is the link to get you started: Thankful DT Blog Hop & Giveaway

I really wanted to create one last project with the mini Day of the Dead kit and I just couldn't resist the urge to create a shrine.  I must admit, I LOVE working on shrines and shadow boxes.  There is something about creating a three dimensional piece with multiple staggering layers that really appeals to me.

The inspiration for this shrine was the large tin Frida that came in my mini kit.  Each of the kits comes with a tin piece but they're all different so if you order a kit, please note that you may not receive a Frida.  When I first opened the kit, I thought "what am I gonna do with this" but it was pretty obvious, it's perfect for a shrine.  I still had the coffin door that I removed for my Oct hop project laying around and it was the perfect size for the tin Frida.

I painted the whole door black and then cut one of the ephemera sheets from the Oct Nesting Components kit to fit inside.  I create a collage with these stamps: floral banner and the Triptych Frame.  After that, I trimmed the inner edges with purple tinsel ribbon and adhered the tin Frida.

I used a lot of the stamps from the Muertos stamp set like this beautiful Frida stamp. I gave her butterfly wings and colored her in with Primacolor pencils.  The DOD kit comes with metal milagros charms (charms vary in each kit) so I used the heart and hung it on jump rings to create a necklace.

To complete my scene, I added to festive muertos on the right side.

My shine would not be complete without marigolds, roses and a virgen (virgin).  So added a bunch along with this beautiful blinged out virgen.  She came off of a bracelet that my DH bought me at a garage sale.  I also tucked in a piece of a bingo card included in the kit.

I topped off the shrine with an angel from the Build a Shrine set and the bottom piece of the bingo card I used.

I really gave a lot of thought to each element so they all represent something to me.  I gave Frida wings in honor of her famous quote "Feet, what do I need you for when I have wings to fly?" (this quote can be found in the Frida Por Vida Stamp Set).  The large heart she's wearing represents her passion.

I included two partying muertos because she was known to love a good party, lol.

The Mexican bingo card I used is La Estrella (The Star) for obvious reasons.  This piece really compliments my Oct Hop Shrine perfectly :D

Thanks so much for joining me today and don't forget to enter the hop giveaway AND check out last week's posts:

I've entered this project in the the Simon Says Stamp Blog Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes!!

HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY, HUGZ!!
