Easter tags!

Hi PWP friends! Ashley here today sharing two Easter tags I made for our niece and nephew. I've attached these onto their Easter treat bags :) One is pink and girlie and the other is blue and brown for a boy, but I used the Easter cling stamp set for both tags!

For my girlie Easter tag, I added some flowers from the Flower Power cling stamp set. I heat embossed the images onto my tag and then just used some misting + the packaging technique to add some color to the background. The "Easter blessings" sentiment is from the Easter cling stamp set.

With my boy Easter tag, I basically did the same thing. I used one of the bunny stamps from the Easter cling stamp set and heat embossed him with brown embossing powder. I added the sentiment from the same stamp set in blue embossing powder. Then I used some blue mist + the packaging technique for added color and texture to the background.

Butterfly Wings Tag

Happy Thursday everyone! Pam here today and I am excited to share with you a tag I created using the Paper Wings Productions Butterfly Wings and the Postcard stamp. I love creating with manila tags because you can really come up with some fantastic colorful backgrounds with just some ink and little bit of water!

I created two manila tags with with this colorful ink background and then used one to stamp the Butterfly Wings and cut them out to "pop" onto the second tag.
To create this fun background I used the Tim Holtz Wrinkle Free Distress Technique and then added a bit of my own flair with some stamping and stenciling.
Here's how:

First I selected the colors of ink I wanted to use- Ranger Distress inks are perfect for this technique because they blend so beautifully with water and the color palette is fantastic!

The inks I chose were: Fossilized Amber, Twisted Citron, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Mermaid Lagoon.

Each color was applied generously direct to my non-stick craft sheet. Do not overlap colors when applying.

Spritz the ink with water from a mister bottle until you can see little droplets of ink (see below).  You can also use a pearlized mist or shimmer mist as well if want a different look with some shine.

Place the manilla tag (or other card stock) onto the inked surface and press gently to pick up ink.

Dry this first layer of ink completely with a heat tool- you can continue to go back and add more color to the tag using the remaining ink- just made sure you dry the tag between layers.

Once you have the desired look you want- ensure the tag is completely dry and stamp the Butterfly Wings in Archival Black and cut out.

I then repeated the above steps to make my background tag. After drying completely I stamped the Postcard Stamp onto the background lightly and in different areas and added some stenciled words using Hero Arts Unicorn White to give the tag some texture and depth.

Here you can see the detail of the Postcard stamp  in the background-I love this look!

To finish off the tag the butterfly wings were "popped" onto the tag with dimensional tape and I used a Tim Holtz ideology pen nib for the body.

Themed Thursday-Halloween

Hello everyone! It's Amber here with this weeks Themed Thursday post! Today I have a Halloween tag and a matching treat box along with some inspiration from a few of the other DT members to share.

I started by die cutting a large tag out of some patterned paper. Than I stamped and colored my broom riding witch, added a black border with some stitching, and attached it to my large patterned paper tag. For my little box I printed and traced this treat box pattern from Paper Crafts onto some patterned paper, cut it out and assembled it. After I had my little treat box assembled I added some mini strips of tissue paper that I cut by hand to the inside and added my little stamped tag to the front of the box. I stamped the "are you a GOOD WITCH or a BAD WITCH?" sentiment onto the little tag and then added a little strip of matching patterned paper to the bottom half of it before attaching it to my treat box. Themed Thursday - Wings

Hello Crafters!

Zoey's here again for another post as Guest Designer!

It seems I totally felt in love with the amazing For the Birds Nesting Components Mixed Media Kit that I can't stop using it! For this project I will use some products from the For the Birds Nesting Components Mixed Media Kit , Lindy's Sidekick - Prairie Wildflowers (Hibiscus Rose), Stamper's Big Brush Pen - Nougat and Bird Beauty Unmounted Stamp Sheet.

For my project I created one ATC and one TAG, I used the same exactly elements / materials and also the same stamps set.

First step was to cover my ATC with some scrap paper, I glued it down using gel medium, covered it with a bit of gesso mixed with water and then I used the Lindy's Flat Fabio to color over the collage

Then I added my stamping using Stamper's Big Brush Pen - Nougat as ink. Both the stamps I have used are from the fab set Bird Beauty Unmounted Stamp Sheet

Then I added some light modeling paste through the stencil from the For the Birds Nesting Components Mixed Media Kit - I also added some color around the stenciled image using Inktense pencils. 

For my final touches I simply added washi tape and the sentiment

I repeated the same exact step on my tag. I just moved few things around and changed the bird -- I also had more space so I could fit the sentiment straight. It was very interesting for me to try and repeat the same technique / process on different thing. It gave me more ideas and even more inspiration. So I really challange you to do something like this aswell! Create something and then try to repeat more or less the same thing on a different support. You will notice how fun it is!

Scrapbook Saturday: add tag to your layout and BE HAPPY

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here today and this is my " Made by mistake" layout. Really. I was sure that I need to make a Mixed Media day post, so I made a fancy Mixed Media tag with a lot of PWP products.
Then I discovered that I made a huge mistake and actually I need to post a layout. But then there is no time left to make a whole stamped page, so I decided to make " use whatever you have" page and this lovely piece was born.
Here is a tag I made.

My niece's lovely photo is just a perfect fit to our PWP clip image as you can see.
And the sentiment is just a great fit to the clip bird image too.
So as you can see even a tag made by mistake can be great as a main embellishment part of your scrap page.

Tutorial Tuesday: Mixed Media Tag with Katie

Hello! Katie here today for Tutorial Tuesday! For today's post I wanted to show you guys how I created this fun Autumn mixed media tag using the Build a Scene Stamp Set. I love that this stamp set could work for any season, I chose to give my tag an Autumn theme.

1.First I applied a matte medium through a stencil onto my tag. This gives it texture, which looks great after you add color over it.

2. I used multiple techniques to color my tag. I started by misting it with Tattered Angels spray in orange, then I applied a bit of purple alcohol ink along the left side and to finish it off I rubbed yellow gelato on to the tag with my finger, getting it into the grooves of the matte medium.

3. Now for the stamping! The Build a Scene set is really fun, I started with the tree. Since I want this to look Autumn-y I only stamped the bare tree, not the leaves. I finished the scene with the other stamps like clouds, the owl and I stamped the fence repeatedly to create a border along the bottom.

To finish off my tag I add some stickers by Basic Grey and wrapped a bit of twine around it!
