You Are Special

Hello PWP fans! Amber here, and I'm super excited to be here sharing my colorful Geisha card with you today. This one has lots of color and stamping. I started by stamping my card base with the large paisley image from the Vintage Melange cling stamp set in black. After I had my card base stamped I pulled out some white cardstock and cut a small square for stamping. I created the background behind my geisha image by blending three different colored inks. I just took the ink pads and swiped them across the white cardstock to get the blended look above. You could also achieve this look with some ink and an ink dabber or some watercolors. To finish off my vertical panel I  added a small strip of  pink cardstock to the top of my stamped piece and a larger piece of pink cardstock to the bottom. I also stamped some text in black to the upper and bottom pink cardstock strips along with a "you are special" sentiment and some twine.

Above is a closer look at the stamped geisha with the blended background. I hope you enjoyed my card today. Thanks for visiting and don't forget to check out Paper Wings Productions current Design Team Call! Please submit your applications by June 1st to Carrie at paperwingsproductions@hotmail.com.

Hello Everyone! It's Amber here sharing a three dimensional card I created with Paper Wings Productions Dragonfly Fairy Clear Stamp Set. I thought it would be fun to share this quick and easy vellum tutorial today for Tutorial Tuesday. This is a really fun tutorial, you can take any flat one dimensional image and turn it into a fun three dimensional image just by adding some vellum.

I started by stamping the Dragonfly Fairy in some Jet Black Staz-On Ink and then I colored her and the dragonfly with some markers that coordinated with the patterned paper I wanted to use.

I set my colored image aside and then stamped the dragonfly's wings onto a scrap piece of vellum paper in the same jet black Staz-On ink that I used for my first image. I only need the wings for the next part of the tutorial so that is why I didn't stamp the whole image.

After I had the wings stamped I cut them out and bent them a little with my fingers. You can see in the picture that the wings are not perfectly stamped, parts are darker while other parts are lightly stamped. Dragonfly wings are paper thin very delicate so I left it like this because I thought they looked more realistic.

After I had my wings cut out and slightly bent I added a small drop of glue to the center of the vellum wings and attached them to my original image. I let the glue dry for a few minutes and then I went back and bent them into place. You can bend them as much or as little as you want, this is what gives the dragonfly a three dimensional look.

Doesn't it look like real dragonfly wings? It's such a simple thing but it really does add a realistic look to the image. I hope you enjoyed my tutorial today and Thanks for visiting! Don't forget we would love to see what you make with Paper Wings Productions Stamps so add your projects to our Flickr Group, to Pinterest, or leave a comment with a link to your project. You Are Special

Hi everyone and Welcome to Mixed Media Monday!!

Norma here and today I'm working with the Sept. Nesting Components kit along with the NEW Dragonfly Fairy and Fringe Lace stamp set.

I found these great canvas mini albums on clearance at Michaels the other day and each page was actually covered with canvas.  So the way this project started out is while I was working on another project that required spray ink, I ended up with a lot of extra ink.  You know in the box that I was spraying in, so I grabbed one of the album pages to soak up all that extra Lindy's ink.  See, nothing goes to waste around here, lol.

Next I stamped the NEW Fringe Lace stamp along the bottom just to add another layer of subtle detail to my design.

Now going back to not wasting anything, I used the Prima packaging from the Sept kit on my background.  Then I layered the beautiful Prima flowers and some of the feathers on the Sept kit's clip art sheet.  My Dragonfly Fairy was stamped on white cardstock, fussy cut and colored with Prismacolor pencils.  I also added a second layer of Stickles covered vellum wings to the dragonfly.  I worked in the floral spray from the owl panel set and the sentiment is from the Dragonfly Fairy set.

I split the velvet rick rack in half and created a bow using both halves.  Then I tucked in an old key and with that I was done!!  I've actually been able to create four Autumn themed projects with this month's Nesting Components kit

So have you picked up your kit yet?!  This is a great kit and there are so many beautiful PWP stamps that you incorporate into your Autumn themed projects.  If you haven't visited the online store lately, then I encourage you do so.  My talented design team sisters have been creating their own magic with this kit too, take a look!

Check out the wonderful custom candle tutorial that Cathi shared HERE and her gorgeous layout HERE.

Last but certainly not least, Dana dazzled us with these two stunning creations.  For Dana's fusible webbing tutorial click HERE and for her beautiful banner click HERE.

Thanks so much for spending a little bit of your day with us!!  I hope we've inspired you to start creating your own autumn masterpieces with this month's kit!!  Have a Beautiful Day!!!
