Mixed media Mondays : Easy made bookmarks

Hello my dear crafty friends! This is my Mixed media Mondays  post made for PWP blog and it's totally Light Mixed Media  that  means  you can do it in an easy way with our gorgeous PWP stamps, some mists and a very short crafting time. So how about to make some quick and lovely projects that take 10 to 15 minutes only? We really are short of the time and sometimes this is an only spare crafting time we have. And then, how about   some really useful project?
I love to read. I really finish a book a week and I never have a nice bookmark to use. So today we are going to make a couple of lovely and quick bookmarks using our lovely PWP vertical stamps.

First I  stamped an Owl panel  and  a Bird  Panel vertical stamp over white cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed it with Black EP. Then I picked a bunch of  mists and just made some misting over the stamped images.

I decided to make the Owl in greens- blues, with a touch of yellow and the Bird in red- orange and yellow tones. I used a wet baby wipe to spread the colors and then added a bit of shimmery paint over the flowers and leaves and made a shiny painted moon .
The last step was to make black cardstock  long tags, to add some buttons and to tie a tassel/fabric bow.

Both tags were made pretty flat as we want to use them as our bookmarks.

And now it's your turn! Go to PWP shop, grab  some vertical stamps and made the similar projects for you or as a lovely quick gift.
And now for the product list:

What's Up Wednesday - Fall Tag Books

Hi! Dana here today sharing a set of tag books that I created with the September Nesting Components Mixed Media Kit.

The larger images from the Clip Art Sheet fit perfectly onto the tags from the kit and made pretty, colorful covers for my books.

I added a stamped banner to the top of each book with the Banner Day Clear Stamp Set and the Hanging Stars Clear Stamp Set.

I added a small cluster of flowers and leaves to each tag. I tied the books together with a piece of multicolored seam binding.

I cut the pages for my tag books from manilla cardstock, that I aged with a wash made from Walnut Ink Crystals. I stamped the bottom of each page with an image from the Owl Panel Clear Stamp Set.

I added both color and texture to both the front and back covers of my books. I melted a layer of Fusible Webbing to each tag. I then added color with Golden Pumpkin Blush and Madonna Blue Robe Embossing Powders. I added another layer of shimmery color with a peach colored mist.

You Are Special

Hi everyone and Welcome to Mixed Media Monday!!

Norma here and today I'm working with the Sept. Nesting Components kit along with the NEW Dragonfly Fairy and Fringe Lace stamp set.

I found these great canvas mini albums on clearance at Michaels the other day and each page was actually covered with canvas.  So the way this project started out is while I was working on another project that required spray ink, I ended up with a lot of extra ink.  You know in the box that I was spraying in, so I grabbed one of the album pages to soak up all that extra Lindy's ink.  See, nothing goes to waste around here, lol.

Next I stamped the NEW Fringe Lace stamp along the bottom just to add another layer of subtle detail to my design.

Now going back to not wasting anything, I used the Prima packaging from the Sept kit on my background.  Then I layered the beautiful Prima flowers and some of the feathers on the Sept kit's clip art sheet.  My Dragonfly Fairy was stamped on white cardstock, fussy cut and colored with Prismacolor pencils.  I also added a second layer of Stickles covered vellum wings to the dragonfly.  I worked in the floral spray from the owl panel set and the sentiment is from the Dragonfly Fairy set.

I split the velvet rick rack in half and created a bow using both halves.  Then I tucked in an old key and with that I was done!!  I've actually been able to create four Autumn themed projects with this month's Nesting Components kit

So have you picked up your kit yet?!  This is a great kit and there are so many beautiful PWP stamps that you incorporate into your Autumn themed projects.  If you haven't visited the online store lately, then I encourage you do so.  My talented design team sisters have been creating their own magic with this kit too, take a look!

Check out the wonderful custom candle tutorial that Cathi shared HERE and her gorgeous layout HERE.

Last but certainly not least, Dana dazzled us with these two stunning creations.  For Dana's fusible webbing tutorial click HERE and for her beautiful banner click HERE.

Thanks so much for spending a little bit of your day with us!!  I hope we've inspired you to start creating your own autumn masterpieces with this month's kit!!  Have a Beautiful Day!!!

Personalized Candles Using Vintage Images and Stamping

Today I want to show a technique that looks complicated, but really is very simple!!

For this technique, you will need a candle (of course!), some white tissue paper, inks, stamps, a vintage image, and greaseproof paper (better known as wax paper over there in the States, but here I could only find brown waxy greaseproof variety!). I actually took my Fall Clip Art Sheet and made a color photocopy on my ink jet printer so it was printed on a thin sheet of copy paper, this makes the transferring the image to the wax, much easier, as the wax saturates the thinner paper much faster!

Next, choose a stamp to use for your candle. I used the lovely leafy image from the Owl Panel stamp set, stamping it in Rusty Hinge and Peeled Paint Distress Inks.

I cut around the stamped images and tacked them onto the candle with a tiny bit of glue. I layered the vintage image on top and made sure everything was lined up on the candle where I wanted it.

The next step is where the magic happens and it really is so easy, you will be making dozens of candles for gifts and giving them to everyone!! The greaseproof/wax paper is really just a way to hold down your image and give a layer between the heat gun and your image...the waxy coating means that the paper doesn't stick onto the candle.  Just wrap a strip of the greaseproof/wax paper around the candle and use the end bits of paper as your place to hold on so your hand isn't in the way of the heat gun and the images are held down firmly against the candle.  Make sure your heat gun is good and hot and just go over all areas of the images. You can peel back the greaseproof paper and check on the progress of your transfers as often as you need to. You will know when you are done when the tissue paper disappears into the candle, leaving the stamped images looking like they were stamped right on the candle. Your vintage image will have a thin coat of wax across it as well. It really looks amazing, like something you could buy in a store!!

Thanks so much for joining me today for this tutorial! Don't forget to check out Norma's amazing layout she did, she made her entire background paper using Paper Wings Stamps and Lindy's mists, just stunning.  Amber has some adorable Halloween cards up on the blog as well, showing some of the great Halloween stamps Paper Wings Productions has in the shop!

We always love to see what you create with Paper Wing Production stamps, clip art sheets and Nesting Components kits and hope you will share with us. Show us on our Pinterest page, our Facebook page or our Flickr gallery or leave us a comment with a link to your project. Thanks for visiting!

Mixed Media Monday: Every little thing

If you are looking for the Fall Blog Hop, please click HERE!

Hello my dear crafty friends, Irit here!
Today is my Mixed Media day on PWP blog and I made a " true" Mixed Media project: with  more mediums than paper and some stamping too.

First I used an old post card as my base. Then I stamped a couple Texture  images over the kraft leftover cardstock with Copper heat embossing (OK, after all possible paints and medium it's hardly seen, but the texture on the left upper corner.
Then I added a bunch of Tando Creative chipboards in steampunk style, both cogs and never used letters. Next all piece was heavily painted with Copper acrylic paint and when it was still wet covered with Turquoise mist for this rusty look.

Then I added some micro beads, glass beads and even red embossing powder and heat embossed all the piece. As the paint was still wet it made this lovely and unique textured look.
More Orange misting was added above the wet piece and them I finally let it dry.
Now the book plate was made with black powder heat embossing and copper paint over it. The stamped in black permanent ink sentiment from Bird Melange  set was misted  too.

And now for a few stamped and hand cut birds from Bird Melange set and an Owl from Owl Panel set: 2 stamp sets were used, stamped with clear embossing powder, heat embossed in black and misted with the same Turquoise mist. All together it made a lovely Mixed Media journal page/wall deco/ anything you want it to be.

You can try this technique of  making your own " add anything possible" backgrounds and it's even better if you use our gorgeous PWP stamps!
