Mini Album-Sea Notes

Hello everyone! It's Amber here today sharing a fun little canvas mini album for this weeks Mixed Media Monday. A few months ago Dana shared this fabulous little Bird Canvas Mini Album and I just loved it. So I thought it would be fun to create one of my vary own with a few different stamp sets from the PWP Shop.

I started by taking the mini album apart and laying each page flat onto an old piece of cardboard. After I had all my pages laid out I took two different Close To My Heart Ink Refills and added a few drops to my spray bottle that had some water in it. I mixed the colors in the water bottle and then randomly sprayed each of my pages. After all my pages were completely dry I added my stamping and embellishments.

For the front page of my little mini album I used the little mermaid from the Sea Melange Cling Stamp Set and the Sunburst Pattern Clear Stamp Set for my background. After I had my images stamped I added a little label that I stamped with "Notes" from the Snapshot Framer Clear Stamp Set and attached it with some washi tape and a staple.

For the second page of my mini album I just stamped the wonderful quote "She stood in the storm and when the wind did not blow her away she adjusted her sails" from the Sea Melange Cling Stamp Set. It's a little hard to see but I also added some background stamping with the Scared Geometry Clear Stamp Set.

For the third page of my mini album I stamped the ship in black and added some washi tape and a little heat embellishment.

For the forth page of my mini album I took this cute little frame from Elle's Studio Love You More Collection and added a little photo and journaling to it. I also added some background stamping to this page as well but its really hard to see in this photo.

For the fifth page of my mini album I stamped the quote "Hark, now hear the sailors cry. Smell the sea and feel the sky. Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic." from the Sea Melange Cling Stamp Set.

For the last page of my min album I took a few of the little fish from the Sea Melange Cling Stamp Set and randomly stamped them across my page. The little air bubbles are from the Mermaid Clear Stamp Set, I thought it would be cute to make it look like they were under the sea. Thanks for joining me today and I hope you enjoyed my little mini album today!

Scrapbook Saturday - For The Birds Mixed Media Layout

Hi Paper Wings fans! Dana here with you today sharing a layout that I created with the For The Birds Mixed Media Kit. I also used the NEW Bird Beauty Cling Stamp Set. You can pick up this fantastic stamp set for 15% off this month! Several of the sentiments in this stamp set were just perfect for documenting my skydiving adventure.

I started with the white piece of cardboard from the kit and created a bird patterned mixed media background with some of my favorite mediums. I first colored the background with Gelatos. I then added birds using the stencil and Golden Light Molding Paste from the kit.

I colored the birds with Gelatos, watercolor pencils and Stamper's Big Brush Pens. I used the Art Textures Cling Stamp Set to add the subtle dot pattern to the body of the birds.

I added a glittery wing to this bird using the bird stencil from the kit and Iced Enamels Relique Glitz Gold Embossing Enamel. I added the small circle pattern with the Single Dot Border Clear Stamp Set. The "adventurous" sentiment is part of the Bird Panel Clear Stamp Set. The For The Birds Mixed Media Kit comes with your choice of one of our gorgeous Bird Panel stamp sets!

The sentiment shown here is part of the NEW Bird Beauty Cling Stamp Set. The designs under the sentiment are made with the Art Textures Cling Stamp Set and the Ledger Journaling Lines Clear Stamp.

I used a White Stamper's Big Brush Pen and the Cloudy Cling Stamp Set to add a fluffy white cloud to my photo.

Hi there peeps!

Carrie here with you today to show you a bird themed project that I made with our For the Birds Mixed Media kit.  I used the kit to embellish an Ideaology Mini Configurations Book.  The best part of the Configurations products is that you can move the little boxes around in any you want to.  I played with the layout for a while before deciding on this one.

For the flat side of the Configurations Book, I used the bird stencil and molding paste from the kit.  Here's a brief tutorial on how I did it.

I scribbled some Gelatos directly on the surface of the book box.

Then I blended them out using my fingers.

Next I mixed up a custom color of Light Molding Paste using my Gelato.

I scrapped off some of the Gelato and mixed it in the paste.

The paste had some chunks of Gelato in it, but I decided I liked it and left it chunky.  I then spread the paste over the stencil carefully filling in the spaces without squishing excess under the stencil.

Carefully remove the stencil and wash off the stencil and palette knife immediately.  Let it dry for about 30 minutes.  While I was waiting on it to dry, I worked on the boxes.

I had fun combining the clip art, rub-ons and trinkets from the kit in all of the little boxes. I also used the new Bird Beauty stamp set.

I stamped the bird using the same technique I did for the blog hop last week.  You can find the tutorial for it here on my blog.

I like to finish off the Configurations pieces with tissue or washi tape.  I think it gives it a finished look and hides all of the seams.  I use extra glue with those tapes because I don't think they stick very well.  Well that's it folks, thanks for staying with me until the end, I know this was a long post!  Hope you enjoyed!  You can find links to all of the products I used below.  The kits are selling fast, get yours before they are gone!

Enjoy the flight!
Carrie
