Wet Stamping Tutorial

Hello everyone! It's Amber here with another fun tutorial. Before I share my project, I want to announce the winner of our blog hop givewaway!

Sweet blog hop! Loved the mix of projects and the various treatment of white... Silver, white and black, neutrals, white on white... Beautiful!

Congratulations Beatrice, please contact Carrie at paperwingsproductions@hotmail.com for instructions on how to claim your prize.

Today I'm sharing a quick and easy water stamping tutorial. I created four different colorful tags with this fun technique. Every tag features Paper Wings Productions Snapshot Framer Clear Stamp Set, Muertos Cling Stamp set, and Text Cling Stamp Set.

Below are the six steps I used to create these fun little tags.

Step: 1 & 2
Start with a white tag and mist it with some water. I lightly misted mine here but you can mist it as much as you want. The amount of water you add will determine how much of a watercolored effect it will have in the end. This also depends on the type of cardstock and ink pads you use. All inks are different so you might want to try it out on a scrap piece of paper and see how it turns out.

Step: 3 & 4
After you have you tag misted take a large background stamp, ink it up with a light shade of ink, and stamp it onto your  tag. Then after you have you background stamped take a smaller detailed stamp and stamp it over your background. I used one of the little stamps from the Muertos Stamp Set. Note: This is done with the same color of ink while the tag is still wet. You will also notice that the tag has curled up a little from the water but it will flatten back out in the next step.

Step: 5 & 6
Now grab your heat gun and dry the tag completely. You could just let it sit in dry but I use the heat gun to flatten the tag back out and it makes the steps go a lot faster. Now that the tag is dry apply a darker shade of ink to your stamp and stamp it directly over the  first image. This will make the image really stand out. You will be able to see the image below it but it will be light and give the image more dimension.

Here is a close up of my finished tags. I added some string , a smaller tag with my "Joy" sentiment, and some colorful sequins. Hope you enjoy and Thanks for visiting!

Themed Thursday- Sea Malange

Hello everyone, It's Amber here with this weeks Themed Thursday post! Hope you all had a wonderful time with the family yesterday! Today I will be showing you a card I created with the large Sea Malange Cling Stamp Set that can be found in the shop HERE. I used three different stamps form the set, two images and one sentiment.

This is another one of my favorite sets because of all the different images, there 11 stamps to choose from in this stamp set. For this card I used the beautiful mermaid as my focal point by adding my blue cardstock and patterned paper around her. I also used one of the two sentiments from the set and stamped it directly onto my patterned paper.  For a fun touch I stamped one of the adorable little fish onto a white tag and added it to the left side of my card with a bow. You can see a close up of these below.

Celebrating You

Hello Everyone! It's Amber here sharing a card featuring the Play With Your Coffee Clear Stamp Set and the Lets Eat Cake Clear Stamp Set.

I decided to keep it clean and simple today. I started by stamping the coffee cup onto a square piece of white cardstock and a scrap piece of patterned paper. While I had the ink out I also stamped the steam onto a scrap piece of vellum and stamped my sentiment onto a pink piece of die cut cardstock.  I colored the coffee and then paper pieced the coffee cup adding the stamped piece of vellum under my patterned paper. After that I cut and distressed a piece of buttercup cardstock, matted my image, stitched around the edges, and then added my sentiment to the right side.

2 Tags

Hello Everyone! Hope you had a wonderful time with your friends and family over the weekend. Now that Christmas is behind us, Valentine's Day will be here before you know it. I planned on sharing a Valentine's Day themed project today but I thought I would save it for next month and change it up and share these two tags.

This is not really a traditional mixed media project but I thought it would be fun to share something different this week. I started with two large tags and then pulled out my Daisy White Ink and Lime Ink to stamp my backgrounds. For the blue tag I used the Earth & Sky cling stamp set and stamped the clouds in a random pattern, the Lime Green tag I  wanted to be a little different so I used the Text Background cling stamp set and stamped the text with a matching ink. While both of the backgrounds were drying off to the side I punched two large circles out of white card stock and stamped my sentiments with matching ink. After I had my sentiments stamped I randomly folded some matching tissue paper and adhered it to the back of my sentiment circles. Then  I added the white sentiment circles with the tissue paper to the center of my tags, trimmed the left and right sides, added my two cardstock brackets and stitched around the edges. After all that I added the little star buttons to the blue tag to added a little dimension to the tag and added my ribbon with a staple.

What's Up Wednesay- Background Stamps

Hello Everyone! It's Amber here with my first What's Up Wednesday Post. I don't know about you but I love to create my own background paper using stamps. So today I thought I would share this card that I created with Paper Wings Productions Text Cling Background Stamp and Earth & Sky Cling Stamp Set. Check It:

There are many different ways to create your own background paper such as...stamping a fun image multiple times, using a gradient watercolor wash in a beautiful color scheme, or taking a large or small background stamp and repeatedly stamping it like I did today. To add texture and dimension to my card I used a technique called tone on tone stamping. To achieve this technique all you have to do is use a ink pad that is the same color or very similar to the card stock you are using.
