Scrapbook Saturday-Holiday Cutie

Happy Saturday Paper Wings Fans!  Erica here with you today sharing holiday layout I created using product from the Paper Wings Productions shop!
I pulled out one of my past Holiday Nesting Components kits, some stamps, gelatos and ink and began to create!  I started with a plain white piece of 12x12 cardstock.  I pulled out a silver colored gelato and added some to a big clear block.  I also added some water to create a nice light watercolor and then applied a piece of clear packaging to the block and picked up some of the color.  I dabbed it all over my white cardstock just to add a little something extra.  Most of it ended up getting covered up but I am ok with that.  I do like the bits and pieces that you can see.  The photo I am scrapbooking is of our daughter last year in front of the Christmas tree.  This is one of my favorite photos of her from last Christmas.  I love the bokeh in the background!

I used the Tim Holtz rub-ons that came in the kit all around my layers and added one of the background texture stamps from the Art Textures stamp set.  I added a few of the chipboard pieces from October Afternoon that also were included in this kit and the cute JOY wood veneer.  For my title Holiday Cutie I used the Holiday Clear stamp set and used the word Holidays.  I masked off the letter S so it would just stamp out Holiday.  I used some red stickers from my stash to spell out cutie!  I love how it turned out and I hope you enjoy it as well!  The items I used today are still available in the Paper Wings Productions shop and some of them are even on sale!  You will find them linked below!  I hope you all have had a wonderful holiday season and I wish you a very blessed New Year!  Thanks so much for stopping today and remember to let your creativity take flight!

Scrapbook Saturday

Happy Saturday Paper Wings Productions fans!  Erica here to bring you this weeks Scrapbook Saturday post!
I am so excited to be bringing you a scrapbook layout today that I created using the September Mixed Media Kit!  I loved this kit and the 6x6 paper pad from My Minds Eye that was included is filled with beautiful paper!
I also used some of the fabulous stamp sets from the Paper Wings Productions shop and a gold gelato!  All the products I used today from Paper Wings Productions will be linked down below!  I started with a plain white piece of textured cardstock.  I took my gold gelato and ran it across on of my acylic blocks.  I used a paint brush and some water to create a nice gold watercolor and then used the Faber-Castell stipple brush to add some splashes of gold to my white cardstock.  I set this aside to dry and then began cutting squares from the 6x6 paper pad.  I cut them in 3" and 3.25" sizes so they were not all the same.  I also cut a few smaller pieces to use as layers.  Next I laid out all my squares and added embellishments from the My Minds Eye Market Street ephemera pack to the squares.  I then added my 3 photos and started to adhere things down.  Once things were down I pulled out my stamps and my Jenni Bowlin ink and added some stamping!  This layout came together quickly and was inspired by a layout that I recently saw on Pinterest!  I really love the look of grid style layouts and they have been very popular and one of my favorites designs right now!  Here is a look at my final layout!  I also pulled in a few enamel dots from my stash and a brad from a past PWP Mixed Media Kit.

Thanks so much for stopping today!  Please remember that our October challenge is still going on and you can link up to our challenge a total of 3 times!  Using PWP product is not required but will give you extra entries into our challenge!  Enjoy the rest of your day and remember to let your creativity take flight!

Scrapbook Saturday

Hey everyone, Katie here! It's been a while since my last Scrapbook Saturday post, so I'm excited to share this with you!

Today I'm sharing a layout I created using the Funky Alphabet stamps and the Earth and Sky stamps! I love the fun font of the funky alphabet and I think it worked great on my layout.
I used it to stamp my title, "Swimming, Exploring, La Jolla, Ca." and then colored over it with watercolor pencils for a whimsical look.

I love the earth from the Earth and Sky stamp set, so I decided to use it to highlight the "La Jolla" part of my title. I colored in the earth with watercolors as well.

Thanks for stopping by, Let your creativity take flight!

Scrapbook Saturday - Well Dressed Layout

Hi Paper Wings fans! Dana here today sharing a layout that I created with the super fun Well Dressed Nesting Components Mixed Media Kit.

This kit is definitely on trend and features several styles of mustaches, gold accents and bow ties, which were the perfect elements to combine for this layout featuring my handsome nephew.

I had a lot of fun designing with circles and stripes. This circle stamp is from the NEW Sacred Geometry 2 Stamp Set. You can pick up this fabulous stamp set at a 10% discount this month. CLICK HERE to check out our other Stamps of the Month.

I dress up this chipboard mustache with the Swirl Pattern Clear Stamp, which is one of two choices of clear stamps included in the Well Dressed Nesting Components Mixed Media Kit.

I think this Marion Smith Mustache Charm is my favorite item in the kit!

If you're looking for more Well Dressed inspiration, Amanda's Folio is a must-see!

If this is your first visit to the blog this week, Katie shared a fantastic Neon Patterned Card Tutorial featuring the new Sacred Geometry 2 Stamp Set and Amber and Erica have created some spooktacular cards and tags for the upcoming Halloween holiday.

If you're feeling inspired we'd love to have you join our September Ribbon/Twine Challenge! Link up your project by September 29th for your chance to win a $20 Gift Certificate to the Paper Wings Production Store!

Scrapbook Saturday!

Hey everyone! It's Ashley here with a guest post for Scrapbook Saturday! I have a 12x12 page to share today using the Art Textures stamp set, Mr Huey's Shine mist, gold foil wing embellishments, and the With Wings stamp set.

I really wanted to use the With Wings stamp set but the sentiment I wanted to use said "with brave wings she flies" so it was not going to work. No problem. I just masked the 's' in she and made the stamp work for my page!

The gold wings were something I really wanted to use with the With Wings stamp set; obviously they were made for each other! The gold foil didn't coordinate with my page so I altered them. I sanded the top layer of the wings to scuff them up a bit and then heat embossed with a layer of white embossing powder. Before the white layer was cool and dry, I added a layer of the fired brick embossing powder. This time I let the wings completely cool and then I added a second layer of fired brick. Since it was distress embossing powder, the wings have great dimension, some of the white layer shows through, and you can still see all their detail. I love how they look on this page!
On my patterned papers, I misted Mister Huey's Shine in a few places. I grabbed my Art Textures cling stamp set and started to build some dimension. I mixed gesso with the Shine spray and stamped the smaller circles. You can use your heating tool to help this dry more quickly. With the chicken wire stamp, I heat embossed with white and fired brick. Then I mixed more Shine mist into my gesso/Shine combo and stamped the large circles. Lastly I added some heat embossed smaller circles in fired brick.
Finally I can share my whole page...

I've linked up my products below. Thanks so much for stopping by today and thanks to the PWP girls and Carrie for having me this month! It's been a blast! :)

Scrapbook Saturday - Mixed Media Layout

Today I´m going to take you trough the process of building a mixed media style scrapbooking page by using pieces from the Soft Summer Nesting Components kit together with Paper Wings stamps.

I started off my project by applying thin gesso over a plain cardstock. This makes the cardstock stif and more resistant to water. I use a spatula to spread the gesso and don´t mind if it gets uneaven. Most of the time I use a heat gun to speed the drying process.

When the gesso and cardstock are completely dry it´s time for the fun part - paint, ink and stamps! First of all I spray water over the cardstock (on both sides). This keeps it from bending to much when applying ink. I ramdomly sprayed on mist in different colors, after drying I started stamping randomly with the background stamps from Paper Wings. Before the stamping ink was dry, I added more water to get a watercolor effect. You can see how wet it was before drying on the last picture above.

When I felt happy with my background I left it to dry again. When dry I started adding more stamped details as well as cut out paper details. I sort of build my pages step by step. First a bit of ink, then some stamps, a bit more ink, some paper pieces, more stamps etc. You get it. After some more drying (it takes a while to create a page like this one....) I started to add my decorations.

I love how the wings turned out on the page!

And this is what the finished page looks like. Hope you enjoyed my step by step!

Inky waves from Marie Johansson.
