Themed Thursday- FALL

Hey guys, Happy Thursday! Katie here today for Themed Thursday! I used the theme fall for my projects. The weather has been pretty nice here lately so I was inspired!

For my first card I used these stamps: Build A Scene, Home Tweet Home, Swirl, and Fall Add Ons. I stamped them all onto a piece of card stock to create this Autumn-y scene and then colored them with copic markers.

For my second card, I stamped a bunch of leaves from the Fall Add Ons stamp onto a piece of cardstock and cut it out into a label shape on my Spellbinders machine then layered it with other embellishments on to the card.

Mixed Media Monday- Tea time

Hi guys, Katie here! I used the Tea Time Nesting Components Kit and the Tea Time stamps to create this art journal page spread for today's Mixed Media Monday post!

I used gelli prints for the backgrounds, going around the edges with gesso and then mint gelatos. I love that lace border stamp in the tea time stamp set, so I added that to the inside of the gesso/gelato border.

I also made a packing tape transparency using on of the tea clip art images that came in the kit. I covered it with clear tape, soaked it in water for a minute and then lightly rubbed off the paper so that it is transparent. I love how you can see the gelli print background through the teacups!

The design team has been doing some amazing projects using the Tea Time Nesting Components Kit. Norma created this gorgeous layout, and Amber made some beautiful mixed media cards.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope I've inspired you to do a little mixed media, or maybe a tea themed project!

Featured Friday- Tea Album

*****To Join our July Challenge: Click Here*****

Hey guys, Katie here! For today's Featured Friday post I am featuring this cute mini book I made using the July Nesting Components kit! I am a total tea lover, so of course you can imagine how excited I was when I saw that this months kit was tea themed.

I used the supplies from this kit combined with the new Tea Time stamps to create this mini book.

I really loved the little tea charms that came in the kit, so I attached those to the binding of my book using some twine I had (not included in the kit).

While you're here, you need to take a peek at Dana's amazing project using this kit! She uses the extra heavy gel medium from the kit to create a unique, mixed media background. Go check it out!

Thanks for stopping by! -Katie

Mixed Media Monday

Hey there peeps!
Today I have a fun and fast project for you.  For this project, I have stamped onto an adhesive backed sheet of metal foil.  Ranger packages it a couple of different ways.  It can be found at your local craft store, but better yet, get it from an independent store such as Stamp Antonio.  I made the centerpiece for this card with the metal foil and mounted it onto a card.

Here's how I made the centerpiece:
I started off mounting a square of the metal foil sheets onto a square of chipboard (thick cardboard).  I stamped the bird from the Bird Melange set and a crown from Royal Melange set using the Staz On ink pad.

I also stamped around the edges of the metal foil piece with some swirls from the Flourish Fun set.  After letting the ink dry, I took an awl (lots of things could be used...a stylus, old ball point pen, anything with a pointed edge) and drew over the stamped swirl images.

I continued to doodle and embellish the metal with the awl, creating hatch marks and creating small dots.

I glued Tim Holtz's tissue paper to the card after first crumpling it up and then smoothing it out before adhering.

I used the words "come fly with me" from the Bird Melange set and edged the bottom of the card with the Scallop border set.  The solid scallop border was inked with a silver dabber and the outline was stamped using Staz On ink.

I hope you have enjoyed our mixed media Monday project!

Enjoy the flight!
Carrie
