August Kit Reveal

Greetings!  It's almost August!  Can you believe it??  Summer sure has been flying by!  Carrie here with you today to introduce our August Nesting Components Mixed Media Kit.  This kit is summer themed, perfect for creating something with your favorite summer memories.

I'm loving this kit, so many possibilities!!

By the Sea Nesting Components Mixed Media Kit contains the following:
-Lindy's Stamp Gang Sidekick Shots- Mermaid Shells
-Um Wow Studios Happy Hello ATC sized chipboard
-Um Wow Studios Sea Shell chipboard
-6 A2 sized scored note cards (2 each of 3 different colors)
-Anchor washi tape
-Golden Coarse Pumice Gel
-Clip Art Sheet
-Your choice of stamp sets: Sea or Sea Sayings

The Coarse Pumice Gel makes EXCELLENT sand texture.  You can tint or color the paste with just about anything: the Lindy's Shots, acrylic paint, reinkers, powdered mica, watercolors...

Lindy's amazing new sidekick shots are just what you need to compliment your Starburst set, magical, Color Shots, and matching embossing powder!
These shots are all in wide mouth 2oz jars, just like their Color Shot cousin.  Add water, &/or rubbing alcohol for painting, (or a combination of the two for quicker drying watercolor paints), or any art medium for personalized mediums for mixed media.
Each sidekick contains 1 Glitz Spritz, (just the shimmer), 1 Moon Shadow Mist, (sepia toned spray with shimmer) and 1 Flat Fabio, (just our luscious color).  We have matched these sprays with their Starburst partner, so they will be the perfect compliment, (or "sidekick") to that set!
The Mermaid Seashells sidekick includes:
Glitz Spritz- Cactus Gold
Moon Shadow Mist- Buccaneer Bay Blue
Flat Fabio- South Shore Sand

Our featured stamp of the month for August is our pretty little mermaid.  This set is 40% off during the month of August only.

What's Up Wednesday- Colorful Seahorse

Hello everyone and Welcome back to the blog! It's Amber here with a bright and colorful card for this weeks What's Up Wednesday Post. I fell in love with this colorful sheet of patterned paper and just had to pair it with some matching inks and some of my favorite PWP stamp sets.

I started by covering my card base with the colorful patterned paper and then I cut and added two coordinating strips of cardstock to the upper half of my card. I stamped the cute little seahorse from the Mermaid Clear Stamp Set in Topaz and then stamped the fun little sunburst pattern in Boysenberry behind the little guy. ( Note: I masked the seahorse and around the edges of my cardstock before stamping the background.) To finish things off I stamped some text from the Text Cling Stamp Set in Topaz  and added three little cardstock squares with bards in the middle of them to the large pink panel of cardstock. You can see a little close up of my card below.

Thanks for visiting! Mixed Media Monday- Tea time

Hi guys, Katie here! I used the Tea Time Nesting Components Kit and the Tea Time stamps to create this art journal page spread for today's Mixed Media Monday post!

I used gelli prints for the backgrounds, going around the edges with gesso and then mint gelatos. I love that lace border stamp in the tea time stamp set, so I added that to the inside of the gesso/gelato border.

I also made a packing tape transparency using on of the tea clip art images that came in the kit. I covered it with clear tape, soaked it in water for a minute and then lightly rubbed off the paper so that it is transparent. I love how you can see the gelli print background through the teacups!

The design team has been doing some amazing projects using the Tea Time Nesting Components Kit. Norma created this gorgeous layout, and Amber made some beautiful mixed media cards.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope I've inspired you to do a little mixed media, or maybe a tea themed project!

Thank You Kindly - Scrapbook Saturday

Hi everybody, Norma here with you today! Today I have a cute layout to share with you that I created using the beautiful Tea Time Nesting Components kit, Writing Cling StampBuild A Shrine and Southern Sayings stamp sets.

I started out by layering strips of various papers from the 6x6 Marion Smith paper pad included in the kit.  I also fussy cut some of the images from the paper like the clock and roses you see here.  Next I stamped some of the flourishes from the stamp set included in the kit and the Writing stamp.

I wanted to use this image from the clip art sheet but it just need a little more so I added the ATC frame from UmWow Studio.  I altered the frame by applying a couple of layers of gesso and then embossing with a stamp from the Build A Shrine set.  Then I spayed it with Lindy's spray ink and distressed the edges.

I love the way the frame turned out!  Okay so next I added some more fussy cut images from the paper pad and some Domino washi tape.

I used black tulle along the left edge.  I created a small bunch for the rose to sit on and added the super cute Marion Smith Tea Time Charms.  Aren't those little utensils the cutest?!

I  love how whimiscal the Tea Time Nesting Components kit is, don't you?!

Alright, for the finishing touch I added "thank you kindly" from the Southern Sayings stamp set.   And on that note I'd like to take a moment to thank all of you for your friendship and support over the last two years.  Today is my last post as an official PWP Design Team member.  I have been extremely blessed to be a part of this wonderful Paper Wings family and I am very grateful for the oppourtunities it has given me.  I will definitely miss being a part of this talented group but I felt it was time to give someone else a chance to share their talents with you.  I will still be around supporting my friends and who knows, maybe I'll get to pop in from time to time ;D.  Yah never know!!

Themed Thursday - Card Set

Hi there sweet friends. Marie Johansson here today showing you a card set made with the Tea Time July Nesting Components Mixed Media kit. Let me first tell you a bit about myself. I live in the north of Sweden with my partner and our two kids (10 & 6 years old). I have been scrapbooking since 2004 and my style has developed over the years to now days more fit under Mixed Media Scrapbooking. I love to use different mediums on my projects mixed up with various sorts of embellishments. You are very welcome to visit my blog to see more of my creations.

Both card has a brown cardstock as it´s base. I choose to use different patterned papers from the paper pad that comes with the kit. To match the cards I choose to use leftovers from one card on the other card. I also used the same ribbons, paints and gesso.

For this card I used one of the pictures from the clip art sheet. I have distressed it a bit on the edges to create texture. I don´t like my cards to flat. The ATC chipboard frame from Um Wow Studios made it´s way up on the top of the card. It´s partly covered with gesso. The Swirl stamps turned out nice stamped and embossed with white embossing powder. I have used the same techniques on the card below, gesso on the chipbard, embossing and splatters of mist and paint. It looks totally different though even though the material is the same.

After finishing my card I had some paper strips left. Instead of throwing them away, used them for a set of tags. I used the same materials on these as on the cards.
