Let's Celebrate

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today using the Celebrate Clear Stamp Set.  This stamp set contains 5 stamps so it's easy to mix and match to create the cards you want.

 

Time to celebrate can be used for many occasions.

Simply stamp the 2 stamps independently and add them to the card.

To add some depth, I adhered Dew Drops to the flower centers as well as the edge of the strip.

 

 

This stamp set can also be used for a number of occasions.
I love mixing pink and gray so I used that color combination to create my next card.

I kept this card simple by using a pattern paper background and coordinating cardstock colors.

Celebrate was added across the center.  Life was stamped separately and added to the lower corner.

Mixed Media Monday- Graduation Card

Hi guys, Katie here! This past weekend was my Sister's graduation, so I whipped up this fun, mixed media card to give her! I used the Celebrate stamp, which was perfect for a graduation card, don't you think? Scroll down to see a peek at my process.

I started by painting a bit of gesso onto my card base and stamping the Sunburst stamp into the gesso, this is a favorite technique of mine! Once the gesso was dry, I smeared gold gelato over it, sprayed that with a little water and rubbed it in. I also poured some Heidi Swapp gold color shine on top, which is why there are 2 shades of gold.

I wanted to stamp the large stars from the Hanging Stars stamp set in gold, but I didn't have any gold ink so I colored the stamp with a Gold PITT Pen and stamped it onto paper. After that, I spread glue over the stars and sprinkled glitter over top.

To add a bit more embellishment, I added on some Queen & Co bling in yet a 3rd shade of gold. My sister loves gold, so I'm sure she will like this card!

  My name is Giavanna Lau and almost everyone (except my Mom) calls me Gia for short. For the past three years I have lived in Hawaii on the island of Oahu, but that could change because of my day job. I wear several different hats-my favorite one is mom to seven children by birth and four by marriage. I am also a civilian doctor for the Armed Forces who specializes in post traumatic stress disorder.

  
  

  I have been scrapbooking since my son Justin, now in law school, was a baby (and I don’t like to think about how many years it has been!) Raising children is more fun when you are creative and don’t mind getting a little messy. I also believe with all my heart that art heals. My creative resume includes designing for Memory Works and Altered Pages, publication in Unruly Paper Arts, and teaching an art workshop for children. My most recent adventure is co-founding Clique Kits, a brand new paper crafting monthly kit club and online community. I love my husband Joel, a professional photographer, wonderful father, and supportive husband. I could not do any of this without him!

March Challenge

Thank you to everyone who linked up in our February Anything Goes Challenge!  All the projects were amazing and we had so much fun looking at the work you shared with us.  March is a special month for Paper Wings Productions as we are celebrating our 2 year anniversary!  So for this month our challenge theme is "CELEBRATE".  This challenge will run for three weeks and the randomly chosen winner will be posted the last week of the month.  We will also select one participant during the challenge whose project will be featured on the Paper Wings Productions Facebook Page  and Instagram.  This person will also receive a discount code to the Paper Wings Productions Shop.   Here are a few details of our challenge.

• Create a project (card, layout, ATC, tag, mixed media, etc.)
• Add your project using the blue button below.
• You will have until March 21st at 11:00pm CST to link up your project.
• You may enter our challenge up to 3 times 
• You may combine our challenge with other challenges.

What's Up Wednesday: Golden Leaves

Hello there peeps!  It's Shay here for my monthly post.  I am flabbergasted by how busy and wondrously creative Carrie and the design team have been!   

 

There are new releases of stamps to fawn over. Amazing Nesting Components Mixed Media kits like this month's seen HERE (don't miss how Norma used the kit to create a beautiful upcycled project or Dana's lovely banner).  Not to mention Irit's tremendous mixed media piece of art, Cathi's gorgeous layout, Dana's awesome fusible webbing tutorial, Amber's fun and fabulous card, and Erica's delightful and dazzling card. Things are heating up!  If you are new or haven't had a chance to look around for a while I recommend checking out this month's Autumn blog hop.  

This month's blog hop prompted me to play some more with the oh so lovely leaves.  I made a few autumn themed cards and yes, maybe gold came into play a lot little.

 

 

To begin my projects I simply stamped the single leaf from Leaves or Leaf and the flourish leaf from Thanks is for Giving or Mini Thanks in brown ink 3 times on a piece of kraft cardstock.  I pulled out some yellow and orange gelatos and haphazardly colored in the leaves.  Using a slightly wet brush I blended the colors.  I added some more orange.  I set them aside to dry and then cut out each leaf.  I used Stickles and to add some veining details to the leaves.  I set aside the leaves to dry.

Card No. 1

 

 

I stamped thankful from Thankful several times in a creamy color on a off white card base.  I watercolored some gelatos over the full thankful on the card.  Over the only full thankful, I stamped thankful again in Versamark.  I heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.  I added a strip of gold glitter tape to the bottom of the card and then finished the card off by adding 3 of the leaves.

 

 

Card No. 2

 

 

I stamped the postcard from Writing Backgrounds or Postcard with Versamark onto a card base and then stamped remember and when from Remember in Versamark.  I heat embossed them all with gold embossing powder.  I folded over some gold glitter tape over the edges pf the card for a photo corner look.  I added drops of orange and green color shine.  Last I added one of the leaves.

 

 

Card No. 3

 

 

On a mini card I stamped handwriting from Writing Backgrounds or Writing with Versamark and then heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.  Next I sewed around the corners of the card.  I added a nest of gold thread and adhered one of the flourish leaves on top.  This would be a great little thank you card or card to give with a gift.

 

Card No. 4

 

 

Using a triangle stencil I colored in the stencil with a gold paint pen.  I outlined the triangles with a brown marker.  I stamped celebrate from Celebrate with Versamark and then heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.  I added a strip of washi.  I wrapped and tied some gold thread.   I added some drops of red color shine and drops of yellow mist.  Last I added one of the leaves.

Hello everyone! It's Amber here with another Themed Thursday Post. For this weeks theme I'm sharing two Celebration cards that are very much alike but different.  For my two cards I used Paper Wings Productions Text & Muertos Cling Stamp Sets and the Banner Day Clear Stamp Set.

I used the same layout for both cards but changed them up by using different colored cardstock, different focal point stamps, and different Text background stamps. This is a great way to make a set of cards, you can use the same layout but make every card in the set a little different with out having to pull out a million different supplies.

Before I go I thought I would recap a few things that were announced earlier this week. On Monday Carrie announced the new design team, unveiled the new Paper Wings Productions website and shared a few new cling stamp sets that are now available in the shop.
