Armed & Dangerous Mixed Media Layout

Hello everyone, its Amber here sharing a layout for this weeks Mixed Media post. Today I am using the Snapshot Framer Clear Stamp Set, some Studio Calico Patterned Paper, a large vellum quote, and a butterfly embellishment along with a few other supplies.

 This is a 12x12 layout that uses a 5 x 6 photo and a smaller 1 3/4 x 2 1/2 photo. That blued eyed cutie is my cat Pookie.

I used the frame from the Snapshot Framer set and added a smaller photo behind it and then stamped Monday under the photo.

I continued the rest of the weekdays under my patterned paper.

We would love to see what you make with Paper Wings Productions Stamps so add your projects to our Flickr Group, to Pinterest, or leave a comment with a link to your project. Thanks for visiting today!

Feature Friday: Be Wise Be Kind Be True

Hello everyone it's Amber here for another Feature Friday Post! Yeah it's Friday, are you ready for the weekend? I know I am. Today I will be featuring the wonderful Owl Be Wise Panel Clear Stamp Set. This stamp set is very versatile and can be used for everyday moments or many different special occasions. Check it out.

For my card I started with a white piece of cardstock randomly scribbled my colored pencils all over the  cardstock. I then took a wet paint brush and went over the scribbled lines for a watercolor effect. After the cardstock was dry I stamped the image and sentiment using a blank ink pad over the water colored area. Next I matted the white cardstock with a light purple cardstock and machine stitched around all four sides.

I really love how the water coloring turned out, it gives the card a very whimsical vibe. Below you will find my supply list and don't forget we would love to see what you make with Paper Wings Productions Stamps so add your projects to our Flickr Group, to Pinterest, or leave a comment with a link to your project. Thanks for visiting today!

Faux Stitching

Hello Everyone! It's Amber here with a Tutorial Tuesday  post. Today is my Birthday so I thought I would share a Birthday Card and Tag. For this weeks tutorial I'm sharing a quick and simple faux  stitching technique. I'm using the technique to create a banner today.

See those black lines I used for my banner...its faux stitching. Not everyone has the time or the patience to hand stitch or machine stitch so this is an easy way to add stitching to any project.  All you need is an ink pad and a sewing pattern tracing wheel. These come in most sewing kits and can be found at any craft store in the sewing notions aisles. Below you will see the four steps I used to create my Birthday card.

Step 1. Grab an ink pad and repeatedly roll the tracing wheel over the ink pad until the wheel is fully covered.

Step 2. Roll it onto the card front or cardstock you are going to use. I repeated this 3 times.

Step 3.Stamp you sentiment onto your card front below the banner line and then on a scrap piece of cardstock stamp your banner triangles.

Step 4. Color, add glitter, cut, and add your banner triangles to your banner line.

It really is as easy as that. There are many things you can do with this faux stitching technique like make stitching lines over your patterned paper or cardstock, make lined and grid backgrounds, and make hearts or other shapes with the wheel.  I hope you enjoyed my tutorial today and Thanks for visiting!. Show and Tell: Flourish Fun and Flourish Fun 2

Good day peeps,

I finish up Show and Tell of Julie Mogford's stamps from our first release today with Flourish Fun and Flourish Fun 2.  I think of these stamps as workhorses as flourishes can be used in so many ways...Julie really outdid herself with her thoughtful designs.  Rather than just boring you with writing let's see the stamps in action in Julie's fantastic samples.

I hope this has encouraged you to put these flourishes to work!  Can you come up with some new ways to use Flourish Fun and Flourish Fun 2?  We would love to hear your thoughts and/or see what you have created.

Coming attractions: future installments of Show and Tell with the fabulous stamps by handmade by Lissie girl.

Take flight,
Shay.

Show and Tell: Whimsical Pattern Alphabet

Good morning peeps,

I am excited to do a Show and Tell for Julie Mogford's Whimsical Pattern Alphabet today.  All the samples for today's demonstration are courtesy of Julie Mogford.

In a very usable lowercase font, there are four fun alternating patterns which give any project a distinctive and playful attitude no matter what style you employ.

I think Julie did a stellar job in showing how this alphabet can be used in all sorts of ways to give your projects a touch of whimsy.  What do you think of the Whimsical Pattern Alphabet? How would you use them?

Shay.

Show and Tell: Frothy Concoctions & Play with Your Coffee

Good day peeps!

We have so many great stamps available for our first release.  Today, I wanted to show more about a couple of the stamp sets designed by Julie Mogford.  I like to think of Frothy Concoctions and Play with Your Coffee as companion stamp sets.  Several of the items from each of the stamp sets can be used with each other and these stamp sets are pretty interactive.  Let me show you a bit more of these unique interactive properties.

By no means is this all you can do with these delicious stamp sets.  Thanks to Julie Mogford, I have several delightful samples to do a proper Show and Tell.

After seeing Julie's samples I am buzzing to ink up her Frothy Concoctions and Play with Your Coffee.  How about you?  Do you have another way of using these stamps?  We would love for you to have your own Show and Tell.

Take flight,
Shay.
